La Ferme de la colline du chêne

Located in Bromont, La Ferme de la Colline du Chêne, a solidarity cooperative, was founded in 2009 by four families wishing to preserve the farming vocation of their land – the former ancestral farm of the Enright family – but also to promote access to land for the next generation of farmers and contribute to local and organic agriculture.

What’s a “solidarity cooperative”?

This model is characterized by the diversity of its categories of members who collaborate together in the achievement of the Coop’s goals and projects. In our co-op, the founding members – support members – volunteer every week to support the women farmers – worker members – who orchestrate all the farm’s activities. This rich and valuable collaboration contributes to the realization of many projects.

For over 14 years, the Coop has been producing – in fields and greenhouses – some fifty varieties of certified organic vegetables, available through summer basket subscriptions, at our self-service kiosk and in many local grocery stores and restaurants.

Today, it’s us : Martine, Frédérique and Virginie – friends, colleagues and farmers – who work here, practicing diversified, supportive, local and strong agriculture.
